What Is The Colorado HEAR Program?

About the Colorado HEAR Program

The HEAR Program is a statewide rebate initiative administered by the Colorado Energy Office and funded through the U.S. Department of Energy. The program's goal is to help Colorado households lower the cost of high-efficiency electric upgrades while improving comfort, safety, and long-term energy performance in existing homes.

Unlike traditional rebates that arrive after a project is completed, HEAR rebates are designed to reduce upfront project costs. Most registered contractors apply for rebates before the work begins, helping Colorado homeowners move forward with clearer expectations and fewer financial barriers.

The program is expected to be available to eligible Colorado households through 2029 or until funds are fully allocated.

HEAR-Eligible Upgrades Offered by Colorado Home Services

Not every home improvement qualifies for HEAR rebates, and not every upgrade delivers the same value. Colorado Home Services focuses on HEAR-eligible improvements that consistently improve comfort, safety, and long-term home performance for homes across Denver and the Front Range.

Because we handle insulation, air sealing, and electrical work with our own in-house technicians, we can coordinate upgrades instead of sending homeowners between multiple contractors. This one-stop approach helps projects move faster, reduces surprises, and makes it easier to take advantage of available HEAR rebates.

Insulation and Air Sealing

Comfort and Energy Efficiency

Drafty rooms, uneven temperatures, and rising energy bills are common in many Denver and Front Range homes, especially older construction. Insulation and air sealing reduce air leaks and help your home maintain consistent, comfortable temperatures year-round.

HEAR-Eligible Improvements

These upgrades are commonly eligible under the Colorado HEAR Program when completed as part of a qualifying project and may help reduce upfront costs. Typical improvements include attic insulation upgrades, whole-home air sealing, and ventilation improvements.

Why It Matters

Insulation and air sealing often deliver immediate comfort improvements while improving overall home performance. When planned together, they help reduce energy waste and prepare your home for future electrification upgrades.

Local Expertise You Can Trust

Colorado Home Services has been improving comfort and efficiency in homes across Denver and the Front Range since 2003. Our in-house teams handle insulation and air sealing work directly, ensuring quality installation and a smoother rebate-ready project.

Electrical Panel Upgrades

Safety and Capacity

Many Denver and Front Range homes still rely on electrical panels that were not designed for today’s power demands. Panel upgrades improve safety and ensure your home can support modern electrical loads.

HEAR-Eligible Improvements

Electrical panel replacements and capacity upgrades may be eligible under the Colorado HEAR Program when required as part of a qualifying electrification or efficiency project.

Why It Matters

Upgrading your electrical panel helps prevent overloads, supports future electric appliances, and creates a safer foundation for additional energy upgrades.

Local Expertise You Can Trust

Colorado Home Services completes electrical panel upgrades with licensed, in-house electricians. We coordinate electrical work alongside insulation and air sealing projects to streamline timelines and support rebate-ready installations.

Electrical Wiring Improvements

Safety and Reliability

Older wiring systems can struggle to support today’s electrical demands and may create safety concerns over time. Wiring improvements help ensure your home’s electrical system operates safely, reliably, and in line with modern standards.

HEAR-Eligible Improvements

Electrical wiring upgrades may be eligible under the Colorado HEAR Program when required to support qualifying electrification or efficiency projects. This can include adding dedicated circuits or upgrading existing wiring to safely handle increased electrical loads.

Why It Matters

Updated wiring improves overall system safety, reduces the risk of electrical issues, and prepares your home for future upgrades like electric appliances, EV chargers, or additional energy-efficient systems.

Local Expertise You Can Trust

Colorado Home Services completes electrical wiring upgrades using licensed, in-house electricians who understand the unique needs of Denver and Front Range homes. We coordinate wiring improvements alongside panel upgrades and insulation work to keep projects efficient and rebate-ready.
